Growing up in Sherwood Park, Katie has always been passionate about Physiotherapy. She completed her Bachelors degree at the U of A, before making the big move to Australia to complete her Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, one of the top schools for Physiotherapy in the world.
Having taught swimming lessons at KLC for many years during her education, Katie built an excellent base knowledge of human movement. Following her graduation, Katie gained experience in sports therapy by working with multiple Australian rules football teams, high-level women’s soccer teams, junior netball teams and rugby teams.
Katie utilises a wide range of treatment methods to ensure a safe return to daily life, work and sport, including strengthening exercise, mobility techniques, education, load management and manual therapy. She is extremely passionate about the concept of “active rehabilitation” and empowering clients.
Katie’s special interests are helping clients with tendon problems, shoulder problems and anything in the lower limb! Since graduation Katie has completed extensive further training in management of the cervical and lumbar spine, shoulder injuries, foot and ankle, S&C training, ACL and generalised sporting injuries.
Katie also offers Clinical Pilates Physiotherapy, which helps build strength and rehabilitate injuries. She has also completed her Biomedical Dry Needling certificate and use this as an adjunct to treatment as needed.
In her spare time Katie loves to keep active with regular strength training, yoga and rock climbing. She is an avid Rocky Mountain visitor and is always trying to tick new hikes off her list! She is also on the hunt for the best latte in Edmonton.
